A high in the Tasman north of NZ is virtually stationary, sending a ridge up the east coast of Australia. Meanwhile a low is entering the Bight, with associated front and trough. The low will push east carrying the trough and front which is expected to sweep through southern Queensland on Monday.
There could be some light showers on Saturday with some heavier rain later on Sunday and into Monday as the trough passes. NOAA is forecast 15mm from this event.
There has been no rain on the Downs in the last seven days.
